"The classes have helped her so much. She wants to become a dyslexia specialist when she grows up. We are so thankful for Beth and all of her hard work. She made a lasting impression on Kelcy!"

"Thank you for all the great help for my daughter. I can't tell you how much me and my wife appreciate it and I think the teachers may (appreciate it) even more so. It just seems like it's just changed her in so many ways ... with confidence and everything else. I know it's just reading but it really is surprising the confidence it gives her being able (to read) better... I would make this payment before my mortgage payment! The only thing I regret is we did not start earlier."

"Dear Kelly and Wendy,

I have attached a photo of a hand-written note that J. left on the table a few days ago. It reads: "Going up Verstovea with A." Just so you can understand- Verstovia is the mountain trail that is just down the road from our house and A. is a good friend. I don't think J. has ever before attempted, much less succeeded, at spelling a word like Verstovia on his own. This time he got all the sounds in the right spots (even though he replaced an i with and e...) without reference or help from anyone. Also, I could read all the words and there was a capital letter in the correct spot! It nearly brought me to tears. Thanks for all you are doing to help J. build skills and confidence in his reading and writing. I am so thankful that this long-distance tutoring is working out, despite the craziness of our world. I hope you both have a great Thanksgiving and know that one of the many things I am grateful for is all that you are doing for my son."

"Hi Kelly and Jill! I wanted to send K.'s most recent test scores your way! He really seems to be blossoming this year- both his overall self-confidence and with his learning and behaviors at school. I have to think that the key to his improvements has been getting a handle on his dyslexia. I'm so proud of him! You have been life saving for us. K. was really struggling before we met you. He is a brand new kid with a bright future and we have you to thank for that. K.'s Lexile in January 2020 was 350, it is now at 737! He has made incredible progress and is having his best year ever and that is despite a pandemic! We are forever indebted!

"I just wanted to say thank you for screening and diagnosing me recently. I so appreciated your kindness in listening and doing a thorough test. Knowing this explains so much. Having this knowledge is SO freeing and will help me so much as I move forward. I'm so grateful you were able to do the test and that I found your testing center. Thank you!"

"Thank you so much for meeting with our daughter today. She was in such a good mood (albeit tired) 😊 when we left from her testing today. She even thanked us for bringing her to see you. I couldn't agree more, the not knowing she is dyslexic is far worse than knowing and being able to get the tools she needs to succeed. We are so glad we came to see you, but of course, kicking ourselves that we didn't do this sooner. I can't believe how many times we were talked out of having her tested Thank you again, we look forward to the report!"

"Lesli has been an absolute life saver in our home school journey. I have two children who are dyslexic and have been tutored in reading and spelling by Lesli. I was struggling to teach them using Barton Reading and Spelling. When I found Lesli, she quickly and confidently got them back on track and progressing.
They have absolutely thrived under her instruction. Both my children are now reading and spelling more confidently and have made tremendous progress in both areas. She has been an amazing support to me as a mom and home educator as well, giving me advice and support often. Lesli is kind, fun, organized, timely, and a great teacher! I am so thankful for her, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling with reading and spelling."

"I just wanted you to know how grateful we are to have you! Koy has made the A honor roll both quarters this year. That has never been accomplished so far in his academic career. Just wanted to let you know whatever you're doing, it's working and helping him out more than all of us probably know! It's so nice to finally see him with some confidence! It all started with your help and we can't express enough how grateful we are!"

"I can’t thank you enough for all your help. Keeton is doing amazing in school. The school is bending over backwards for him. He has straight A’s by applying all that was recommended for him! He is loving school and I can’t believe it’s the same kid! Again, our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts!"

"Kelly has tutored our son, Elijah, for his dyslexia for over a year and a half now. It is amazing to see his ability to read improve and his confidence flourish. She is very patient with him and has great insight into what works and what obviously doesn’t. The only mistake that we made is that we didn’t start tutoring sooner! He is becoming a more confident reader as a result of her tutoring, and we look forward to the future progress that he will make."

"Our journey with our daughter, Ruth, started when she was a preschooler. In those early years, her struggles were subtle. I brushed them off as “she just wasn’t ready to learn.” Ruth was young for her grade, so we decided to repeat preschool and start her in kindergarten a year later.

Kindergarten wasn’t a huge struggle, but by the time she entered first grade she had fallen academically to the lower end of her class. Her teacher assured us she was smart but wondered if she wasn’t trying hard enough. I knew it wasn’t about her not trying hard enough. She worked harder than anyone else in the class and it didn’t matter how hard she worked; she wasn’t seeing any results. I knew we needed to find an answer quickly when my daughter said, “Please fix me.”

With the encouragement of my sister, I decided that I needed to have my daughter screened again by a certified dyslexia tutor. Lesli Fenner screened my daughter at the end of her first grade year and confirmed our suspicions; Ruth was dyslexic.

Lesli passed Ruth on to Kelly Haggerty for tutoring because our schedule worked best with Kelly’s availability at the time. Although Ruth was resistant to trying something new, Kelly assured me that once Ruth started the tutoring program she would be completely bought in. Kelly was right! Almost immediately, Ruth commented that things were finally making sense. Slowly her reading started to improve, but more importantly, her self-esteem returned. Ruth spent the next few years tutoring with Kelly and continued to improve academically.

Through Kelly and the Barton System, Ruth can now reach her full potential as a student. Ruth still works hard but now reaps the benefits of her hard work. Best of all, Ruth knows how to be her own advocate in school.

I am thankful daily that we found Lesli and Kelly. Together they helped my daughter understand that she didn’t need to be fixed. Instead, how she was being taught was what needed to be fixed."

"Both of my children were blessed to make the difficult journey of learning and attention disabilities with the best tutor, Kelly Haggerty, using the Barton Reading & Spelling System.

I can’t say enough about how patient and supportive Kelly was day in and day out during the four years my children tutored with her. Both of my children no longer have Individual Education Plans, and my daughter even reads for enjoyment.

Since graduating from our time with Miss Kelly, she is still in our hearts. She has made an impact that will last a lifetime. Kelly truly changed our lives from despair and struggles to hope, and she gave us the tools to learn and believe that we can be anything we set our minds to.

Kelly, from one mother with dyslexic children to another, thank you from the bottom of my heart."
